Quick blog: There is nothing like seeing Michelangelo's David in person. I was ready to be either disappointed or not necessarily impressed given 33 years of hype. But no, it is truly amazing - huge (of course) and just so PERFECT. I guess raiding morgues and opening up dead bodies paid off. No other sculpture we've seen on this trip has the same muscular detail. Not too mention, David is gorgeous! Yum!!

My sympathies to Mrs. Reagan and to all you for having to put up with the news coverage. It is easy to ignore whatever is happening in the States. Sometimes I miss it, but most of the time it is refreshing to see front page coverage of the rest of the world's goings-on.
